Our Research Group

Initially based on the research on cardiac assist devices the Working Group on Cardiovascular Dynamics deals with investigation, development and simulation of cardiovascular devices and hemodynamics for diagnostic and therapeutic tools. Main focus are the research on assist systems and their experimental and clinical evaluation and application, further the design and installation of test circuits for applications in cardiology, cardiac and vascular surgery, dialysis and blood compatibility testing.
Our group is a joint institution of members of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Physics, and the Center of Biomedical Research within the frame of the Ludwig Boltzmann-Cluster of Cardiovascular Research.
